LOVE THE CHILDREN

It was so easy to see this image and it reminded me that we are all children. It's just that the outward appearance for each of us changes over time. You always hear the phrase, "live in the present" and when I am with my grandchildren, I have no other choice than to live in the present. I love them and thoroughly enjoy their thoughts and actions. My (internal) child is allowed to step out and play with them for awhile.

I started "Creating with My Eyes Closed" as a reward for completed three pages of journaling each day. The journaling was an important exercise promoted in Julia Cameron's book, "The Artist Way". It's a wonderful way to get in touch with your subconscious. PLUS, it's fun and entertaining. If you are an artist, or a "wannabe" artist, it also provides inspiration for new art.

Paint with Me! In 1998, I began the move from entrepreneur to becoming a full-time artist. I realized it was no accident that I had gravitated to the advertising industry, with its emphasis on visual communication and its population of creative people! Even though I spent my time on management and sales, the allure for me was always the art. I gradually withdrew from my businesses, and focused on making the second half of my life an artist’s life. It has been pure joy to step out of the shadows and the sidelines, and allow myself to be the person making decisions about design, color, pattern and shape.
