RECREATING MYSELF AS AN ARTIST

It wasn't easy discovering (or excavating) the person I wanted to be during my next life. I wrote down the question, "Who Do I Want To Be?" and when I looked at the image I saw an artist. I thought, "that's me" and I already look successful! I'm living proof that if you want to recreate yourself . . . it's possible.

I started "Creating with My Eyes Closed" as a reward for completed three pages of journaling each day. The journaling was an important exercise promoted in Julia Cameron's book, "The Artist Way". It's a wonderful way to get in touch with your subconscious. PLUS, it's fun and entertaining. If you are an artist, or a "wannabe" artist, it also provides inspiration for new art.

Paint with Me! In 1998, I began the move from entrepreneur to becoming a full-time artist. I realized it was no accident that I had gravitated to the advertising industry, with its emphasis on visual communication and its population of creative people! Even though I spent my time on management and sales, the allure for me was always the art. I gradually withdrew from my businesses, and focused on making the second half of my life an artist’s life. It has been pure joy to step out of the shadows and the sidelines, and allow myself to be the person making decisions about design, color, pattern and shape.
